There is a difference between hearing how beautiful a place is and actually seeing it for yourself.
On seeing the entrance and the hotel I had a serious WOW moment starting from the friendly faces everywhere to the cold juice served at reception.
I had booked a sea front room and the view of the ocean outside was simply beautiful. The room was not big but it was clean and well maintained and looked absolutely new. The room had two beds with mosquito nets for the persistent Mombasa mosquitoes.

For an inexpensive retreat, this is the place to be … Located at the end of a lifeless, winding and dusty road as you approach the shores of Lake Elementaita is the Pinklakeman’s eco-lodge-cum-campsite. This little Kenyan paradise is located 127 km from Nairobi, along the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway, about a kilometer from the highway.
The eco lodge is surrounded by Acacia trees that offer great shade from the scorching sun. We got there expecting to see a scene from ‘Out of Africa’ but all we got were three simple cottages.

After a five hour journey from Nairobi, turning into the Blue Towers Hotel in Meru was like stepping into a warm bath on a cold day.
The Blue Towers Hotel is close to the centre of Meru town in Eastern Province.
By rural Kenyan standards, this hotel which is situated within an OilLibya petrol station, is a reasonable choice for any type of traveler.

And when a girl is ready to stake her shoes on anything … well, you’d better believe her! But I put her to the test anyway. What would it cost me to come in and enjoy a glass of wine with my girlfriends?
